Hyatt’s luxury boutique-style brand took its time arriving in Asia, but the results, in the southeastern coastal enclave of Sanur, are worth the wait. Andaz Bali fits right in to the local high-end hospitality scene, its 149 rooms and suites clustering around a series of garden courtyards. The interior spaces are generous, and open onto balconies or terraces, and the style is a pleasant mix of contemporary and traditional elements. The Shankha Spa is the largest in Sanur, and the Andaz is supplied with a handful of restaurants, from Indonesian comfort food at Wok Wok to Mediterranean flavors at Blue Oven.
