Piano Recital by Petrick Kluivert
Petrick Kluivert Piano Recital presents an intimate evening of classical piano, featuring works by R. Schumann, J. Brahms, F. Chopin, and S. Rachmaninoff.
This recital explores the many shades of becoming: innocence, longing, inner conflict, tenderness, and emotional maturity. Through Schumann’s Abegg Variations, Brahms’ Klavierstücke Op. 76, Chopin’s Polonaise-Fantaisie Op. 61, and Rachmaninoff’s Piano Sonata Op. 36 No. 2, Petrick invites the audience into a musical journey shaped by lyricism, virtuosity, and deep personal reflection.
Born in the 90's, Petrick began studying piano at the age of 9. He trained under Imelda and Teo Minaroy before continuing his studies at Yayasan Pendidikan Musik Jakarta, including the Pre-Conservatory Program, under the guidance of renowned Indonesian pianists Gita Bayuratri, Levi Gunardi, and Aisha Sudiarso Pletscher. He later continued private studies with Iswargia Renardi Sudarno, acclaimed Indonesian pedagogue, conductor, and Director of Jakarta Conservatory of Music.
During his musical journey, Petrick received several recognitions, including the YPM Young Artist Award in 2015 and 2017, The Most Outstanding Performance Award from 2013 to 2015, 1st Prize at Bandung National Piano Competition, Finalist at Jakarta Conservatory of Music Boston Piano Competition, and Grand Finalist at Indonesia Steinway Youth Piano Competition. He has also participated in masterclasses with distinguished musicians, including German pianist and pedagogue Josef Anton Scherrer.
Join Petrick for an evening of powerful, poetic, and deeply expressive piano music at Balai Recital Kertanegara.
